Travel Collages

This series of digital collages is composed from fragments and memories gathered during an eight-month backpacking journey through Asia, beginning in Japan and gradually moving west. As a deeply personal body of work, the series reflects Dante Betsch's appreciation for travel, unfamiliar places, and the sense of community encountered along the way - values that continue to shape his creative practice. The images were inspired by embracing the unfamiliar: traveling by uncommon modes of transportation, exploring places less frequented by Western travelers, and finding moments of connection across language and cultural barriers. Together, the collages explore memory, movement, and the layered experience of discovering new places with curiosity, openness, and wonder.
